Mr. Reuven Rivlin,
President of the State of Israel,
Jerusalem
Israel

                                                                                                     Palma, 12th of November 2015

Dear Mr  Reuven Rivlin,

It was with great sadness that we heard the news of Mr Itzjak  Navon’s death on the 6th of this month.

We met him personally during the events held in 1992 and later coincided with him on several occasions in Israel, the latest being in November 2013 in Jerusalem at the Samuel Toledano Awards Ceremony where we were presented with a prize for that year.
He telephoned me personally to tell me the news. I really valued his proximity and affection.
He was a great expert, defender and lover of Sephardic culture.
We will remember him with tenderness as an exceptional man.

Without a doubt Israel has lost a great personality, one of the cornerstones and witnesses of the creation of the State.

May he rest in peace.

Please accept our most sincere condolences, from us personally, from the Board of Directors and from all members and friends of the Institute for Cultural Relations between Baleares and Israel.

With heartfelt wishes,

Jacqueline Tobiass                                                              Juan Albons M.
